This coming Saturday 12/17 there will be a teach-in at Peachtree and Pine on the topic of sustainable agriculture, urban gardening, and the relationship between food and democracy. The schedule will look like this:

A working group for a PLANNED, & hopfully GA approved, occupication will meet RIGHT after Friday’s (8-09-11) GA, (around 9pm) In Troy Davis Park. Please attend. Next Sunday, December 11th, is our work-day to get started on the rooftop gardens. Here are our needs so far:
1: Composters. We need at least five shipping pallets and a tarp to build the first composter.
2: Compost. We need as much compost as possible. Any plant material (including paper) makes good compost.

I was just thinking about this last night. Right now might be a good time to build a test version in the park for possible future use come January. It would only have to serve around 10 people that are staying there and would make easier to wash hands, brush teeth, etc. now that the bathroom in the park is out of order.
