General Agenda Agreed upon by DGV committee on 11/22/11
    Step 1:
    The Statement of Purpose
This is the first task we have been charged with by the GA and the sooner we complete it, the sooner Media and Outreach can begin using our literature to reach out to the Atlanta Community.
    Time Objective:
Finish statement and have it approved no later that the 1st of the December.

    Step 2:
Construct Statement of Guiding Principles that States WHO WE ARE and how we operate
This task may already have been completed by the OA GA’s Pledge Guiding principles

Think Manifesto in style in purpose

    Step 3: Declaration of Grievances
This is where we address and spell out the injustices we are seeking to abolish.
This task is similar to the NYC Declaration
We could “stand in solidarity with theirs’” and include a section that we would write: “And here in Atlanta They have….”

Here is a link NYC Declaration Doc:

    Step 4:
    Create Atlanta Based Demands
Let’s keep them General and publish them quickly
They can be a rolling list (i.e. we don’t have to call it done, we can just publish what we know we all want and keep the demands coming)
With the publication of our Atlanta Demands we can call on local activist groups to align with us and help us create specific plans of action to enact our demands
This would create a form of outreach and communal ownership of the movement from organizations who have invested loads of time already to the demands we will be creating actions and educational workshops around.

E.g of Atlanta Demands we can start with:
Stop Marta Fair Hikes- can call on Atlanta Public Service Alliance
Overturn HB87 – can call on GLAR
    More funding to APS
HOPE Scholarship – Can call on Georgia Students for Higher Education
Moratorium on Foreclosures- Lawyers in Atlanta are already working on creating a bill for the next legislative session that stops all foreclosures and demands immediate reassessment of home’s value.

    Step 5:
    Congressional and national Demands:
Occupy DC is currently working on Congressional Bills that focus on national demands.
We could stand in solidarity with the demands we agree with OR we could start a subcommittee to create national demands.
Here is a link to an example of some National /Federal Proposals already being constructed that we can work with and or support:
