Lets test if we reached a solution to our quick communication goals from tonite’s meeting.

The AJC has already clarified tonite, no TB within Occupy Atlanta. Who and when is going to circulate this on our social media+press release? Should have been done tonight.

Next, to finalize and have the last laugh as a bookend comeback to when we issue our press release and social media coverage indicating no TB in Occupy ATL, we can also mention the following story about rats in an elementary public school in Atlanta/Fulton. Good job Kasim Reed, hope my kid doesnt get some disease from a rat at his school.

The Rat story can also serve as a great on camera talking point to turn the subject back onto the city/Reed/diseases.

Keep in mind the Health department for City of Atlanta is most likely in the same building as Reeds office (not sure though). If that is the case, interesting how City of Atlanta schools have rats.

Interesting update @reflux so you were at the media meeting tonight… What are you helping with on the media team?

I don’t know yet how I can help. But if I may respectfully point out that the real time media team communication was not clarified on how to go about it quickly. This is a good example as we speak. :)

Nice I try to add this to my fb. Keep up the good work reflex and feel to post anything else in the occupy news thread. ;3

If you all think we expect to get questions about TB from the press, trust me on using the Rats story as the turnaround. It will show we have media know how and will shift the onus back on the city and because Occupy ATL is a hot story, the Rats story will get more attention than usual because it comes from us. Press is a mind game. I have done this for work.

I really think that having one person call everyone on the team is an outdated approach; its like the Pony Express. Phone calls are good and necessary, between specific people but for instant communication to multiple people in seconds, I insist on texts. Take my initial post tonite as an example. Was that one guy in our committee going to call everyone, one by one tonite? What if I call him and he doesn’t answer or he is out of battery or somewhere with bad reception?
