    • I signed up Coordinating to do this, and actually I just got back in town a few hours ago after visitng Occupy DC, Philadelphia, Wall Street, and Boston. Would’ve stopped at a few more, but other members had to return sooner. I would like some help with this, however. Perhaps once it gets started, we can find some more members to assist in…[Read more]

And this is where it starts to blur the line between content administration and site administration. I would consider broken links to be a content issue, for whoever is managing the content. I tend to consider both those roles doable by the same team, however.

So that worked. I’d suggest github since the site is code based and nycga is already using that. It provides free tracker and such. Or use the redmine installation at http://projects.occupytechnology.org/

It should really depend on what you want. If you want a place to store your code and base issues/tickets off that code base, then go with…[Read more]

Anyone working on this on our site? http://projects.occupytechnology.org/issues/35

It’s openid, which will let anyone registered here use this as their identity on other services we roll, so they don’t need multiple logins.

    • Nope, is that something you can do for us? If not, add it as a feature request when I get the github setup… I’m assuming assuming there’s a place for feature requests there. I’ll post the link when its ready.

    • So, I did that. We’ll see if I get any more. I’ll reply back and let you know.

      • So you were getting group update notifications? That’s odd, but yeah that’s exactly the first thing I would try. You will get this notification if you have your general notifications set to notify when people reply to you. But definitely let us know.

We need to get a good free error reporting and site feedback system… Any suggestions?

          • Actually, we need something simple for the users to report errors. I doubt most people will use git hub to tell us a link is broken on such and such page.

I did set us up an account there last night for us to use… I’ll have to look at it more.

            • And this is where it starts to blur the line between content administration and site administration. I would consider broken links to be a content issue, for whoever is managing the content. I tend to consider both those roles doable by the same team, however.

              • We do both @sunflame we manage the entire site. There is no line there for us other than posting things for people. Each group is responsible for posting their own things. Posting other peoples content never turns out well.

                • The broken link that I am referring to right now is a php programming error, but from a users standpoint we need a reporting system like idea.informer or Tue system Diaspora uses with the “site feedback” button or the one Google plus uses, etc.

Otherwise, we end up having people posting “the site is down” on fb or “the site has broken…[Read more]

Because some of us have lives. We have x amount of time to donate, and attending meetings isn’t a good use of that time for many of us.

  • When are we going to talk about demanding some resolution of the real issues destroying America? Let’s end homelessness. We can do that virtually overnight. Put every homeless person into an empty home. We’ve got plenty to spare.

Yep, because process should require that people who are donating their time, equipment, and resources give plenty of notice before they stop doing it. This is why some people hate process so much, because it sounds like just another word for control.

I didn’t want this to get lost on Facebook. Someone should reach out to him if there’s interest.

Keith Mercer i’m sure this post will get lost in the frenzy that is OA on FB but i’m serious if people are interested in Security Culture and Direct Action i’m willing to teach what i know. so if you’re interested just send me a message on FB.

    • if anyone would like i can put together a workshop on Security Culture and Direct Action and would be happy to. the FB page has had calls for DA and some serious breaches in SC and since i’ve noticed there are many newer activists involved its good to be more prepared.

if you’re interested you can find me here as Igatranonic or on FB as Keith Mercer

Something I finally figured out how to say on Facebook. Repeating it here as it’s directly related.

To put it clearly, the freeway is no more or less a public right of way than the sidewalk (just for a different type of travel). I’m willing to assert my right to impede that right of way briefly for political speech. That falls under civil…[Read more]
