IT Infrastructure Minutes
2011-11-19 1pm
Conference call
In attendance:
Alex, Avery, Kelvin, Kirsa, Ryan
-Update since last week: Ryan spoke to the Swedish pirate party, they are considering setting up separate infrastructure for hosting Email services for any occupations who need it. We should hear back from them tomorrow (2011.11.20) after they have made their decision.
-We have access to cpanel on Mimixs server
-Avery will resend on the bottomliners mailing list the telephony form.
-Avery will learn more about mailman in order to set up self-moderated committee mailing lists
-CONSENSUS to set up all new committee mailing lists similar to the current IT Infrastructure mailing list by default.
-CONSENSUS to stick with Email hosting on Mimixs server for now.
TELEPHONY
-CONSENSUS to provide individual extensions for end-users, with voicemail boxes which are accessible by a default random pin.
-CONSENSUS to provide individuals who are not associated with any committee with their own extensions, but to hold off on it until we get with process to help design a system to prevent abuse. Committees will get 2000 block extensions and Individuals will get 3000 block extensions.
-Kirsa will check the FXS at Peach&Pine to see why the handset there is not transmitting DMTF.
-Distributed call center… Ryan to work directly with Kelvin
-eGroupware/telephony integration tabled
-CONSENSUS to provide each committee with it’s own default conference bridge, and for those bridges to be opened via moderator password to prevent abuse. Optional recording of the conference by dialing a code.
Internet-in-a-Box for HQ2
Internet-in-a-Box for future occupation site
-We have the Clearspot from OWS!
-We can build at least one more Internet box like the one at Peach&Pine
-Ryan has some deep cycle batteries and possible containers to support an internet box in an unpowered park.
-Chaining the box to a tree might make it less safe against police, idea to fill container with water jugs to make it hard to carry away?
CONSENSUS: Internet box making day, November 26th 11am at Freeside Atlanta, C7 as backup.
Internet access for Peach&Pine
CONSENSUS: John B will be given the combination for the Internet-in-a-Box in case of a police eviction.
Collaborative Minutes
-How can we keep collaborative minutes without using Google docs? Kirsa is tired of keeping the minutes exclusively.
CONSENSUS: Pirate Pad
CRM
-Kirsa and Kelvin need an account at occupynid.us to help demo eGroupware, Ryan to make the accounts.
Other Business
-Media is starting to hand out OATL number (404-720-6060) to the public.
-Created and option 4 on main menu – for all other inquiries. Forwarding to IT until we can set up something better, but this will allow them to leave voicemail.
-Avery will fill out phone request form for IT Infrastructure, everyone present wants an extension.
-Ryan will continue to set up Drupal/Social networking demo, will create video demos.
