Since everyone is now working on their own tasks we went around the group and talked about what we’re working on and discussed the details of those projects.
All projects are currently being listed GitHub: http://goo.gl/Kd2AU
There is also a wiki there for how to’s for new and a change log for the records.

Shana – just a personal announcement and fyi, I’m going to finish up what I’ve started with the website, meaning all the projects currently listed on git-hub and then I’m going to move on. The site will be functioning well at that point and will only need minimal maintenance. The site will be there if people want to utilize it. If a better site is ever built, we should take advantage of that, but it will be up to the group.

Andrew – Working with Ron Allen on setting up an official class to help people learn how to post on the website.
Discussion: Hopefully this will help. It would be nice to have a projector to demonstrate how to’s during the class. Logistics may be able to help with that. Shana suggested having a set time scheduled in the main room of Peachtree and Pine just like the BL meeting and set it up just like a classroom with chairs etc. It would be great to have a hands on training session. Might be good to have Ron Allen help facilitate the class since he has experience in Training and Education.
Billy – Completed the Browser compatibility task and is currently working on a Mobile version of the site. I’m trying out all the options to see what is going to be the best fit for the job whether that ends up being child style sheets or a plugin.
Discussion: Shana will help with adding a new style sheet and there is also already mobile coding in the current style sheet you should check out. Donald suggested zing.
Jimmy – Still working on the Events time switch on the sidebar and will see if latest fix solves the problem. Has worked on enabling the FB share button on individual Events. Will work more with adding FB meta tags.
Disscussion: Shana agrees if FB meta tags don’t fix the issue, then it is unfixable. Nyc also has the same problem and if you figure it out be sure and let them know the solution. This is important since so much occupyAltlanta people use FB, also ideally we should be updating on the website first then sharing out to all social networks from there. The way it has been is things are getting posted to FB first and sometimes never hit the website.
Jimmy – maybe we need to try a like button instead.
Shana – yes, I heard the only thing that works is a like button.
Donald – at the media meeting yesterday we discussed FB tracks you when you click a FB Like button and we will no longer be using FB, so a FB Like button is unnecessary. Jimmy will table that project, then since it is unnecessary.
Shana – Had worked on the FB share button and exhausted all options, handed it over to Jimmy. Started the Global Site Search, has everything installed, but needs the new php codes merged properly with the Functions file.
Discussion: Jimmy will work on that.
Donald – Has a background in user experience, video editing, education and training. Found some broken links on the BP Activity feed and thinks there could be some changes with the layout of the main page, but will table that for later.
Disscussion: Shana – We need Donald to work on the How To pages, make them better and add photos and screencast videos with sounds. You should also get with Big Softy in the UX Working Group and create a mock up of what changes you think should be made. Be sure those changes come from the feedback of everyone and not just one person.
