Logistics Committee Information
Logistics Overview: Logistics manages the day-to-day tasks that keep the occupation running. It keeps the Occupation fed; solicits, receives, and distributes donations; coordinates the transportation of people and goods; maintains the Occupation’s IT infrastructure; and runs the Occupation’s spaces, e.g. the fourth floor of the Metro Atlanta Taskforce for the Homeless. Logistics also maintains printers and printing and distributes the current materials to other committee representatives and on-site.
Processes: Request content to be printed by sending it in PDF format to logistics@occupyatlanta.org. Define in the request where and when they should be delivered, and if they should be distributed internally.
Donation offerings should be called into the donations hotline for transport or delivered to peachtree and pine.
Events that are being planned should be brought to logistics immediately to aid in planning tables, food, and security staff and equipment. This can be sent to logistics@occupyatlanta.org or brought to a logistics meeting.
Logistics has access to tons of vehicles and drivers. Resources that need to be moved from place to place can be reported to Logistics@occupyatlanta.org for dispatch. Offers to be on the driver list can be sent to that email as well!
Logistics Needs: Logistics maintains a google document that tracks the Occupation’s material needs. It can be found at: http://tinyurl.com/6q45loq
Donations: All material donations should be dropped off at Peachtree and Pine. Anyone interested in donating goods should contact Occupy Atlanta at Donations@OccupyAtlanta.org.
Structure: Logistics is composed of a general logistics committee, and two sub-committees that operate independently and report their work at the general logistics committee meetings. The sub-committees are IT Infrastructure and the Peachtree and Pine Community Sub-Committee.
Meetings: Meetings are every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 9:00 P.M. On Monday and Friday they’re on the fourth floor of the Metro Atlanta Task Force for the Homeless, located on the intersection of Peachtree Street and Pine Street. On Wednesday the meetings are held offsite, and rides for those interested in attending are arranged at the Wednesday General Assembly.
IT Infrastructure meetings are held via conference call, and to receive a schedule join the mailing list by contacting IT@list.occupyatlanta.org. Peachtree and Pine community meetings are held Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday at 10 P.M on the fourth floor of the Metro Atlanta Taskforce for the Homeless.
Contact: The Logistics Committee can be contacted at Logistics@OccupyAtlanta.org, or via phone at 404-720-6060.
