outreach is any contact with people outside of the occupiers already here
BIG ISSUE: people want to know how to get involved
people need a clearer message in response to outreach
was talking to a contractor who wants to help
-Flyering needs goals and objectives
-One-on-One should be more official (Red Cross Donators etc)
-Goes regularly to malls, etc carrying a sign “Ask me about Occupy Atlanta”
thinks everyone should make it a point to bring up the occupation in everyday conservations
keep track of questions, peoples issues, contact info

make sure actions are a form of outreach
will work with Action committee
wants to work with Ron on union organizations
were missing a “plug”
we need to be able to say: “Here’s what you can do”

Cater to interests when addressing certain areas such as Unions etc
Ron: All major union presidents are on board (!) who will propogate all info to rest of the union
Fred:
WE NEED BETTER SCHEDULING/ COORDINATION BETWEEN EVENTS AND MEETINGS, ACTIONS ETC
Ron: LaMarcus will be coordinating ministries once we have actions and things in the works
Sally: NPU’s; trying to get as many people invovled, has contacted all heads of NPU’s regarding coordination occupation activities within those areas
trying to coalate all the different groups so we can get people going t o the right people
Donald:
Saturday at “My Coffee Shop” 2pm (on Memorial) moveon.org meeting interested in tying in with occupy atlanta

want yard signs/art for good quality yard signs (needs contact with Art & Literature Committee) will be Waldo and 1 other will make an announcement on Facebook

we need to be using the website more effective
go to the communications tab on occupyatlanta.org – committees and groups – JOIN OUTREACH GROUP – if your leading a sub start a thread in the forum and constant communication needs to entail
ACLU is having a panel discussion Saturday around 130pm at John Marshall Law School near Arts Center
Regina;
planning on setting up actions that are appropriate for outreach and will get in contact with those who have people waiting in the wings
Ron:
martin luther king holiday organizing is going on; can be an awesome tool going on getting assimilated with the activities that are being planned
Fred:
What about the Teacher’s Union? Ron’s got it.
Ron:
- There is a council of all major unions in the state – they are just waiting to hear what they need from us
An event, what group is associated with it, etc.
Regina:
There are so many events we need to pick a big event to build up to so people have time to organize and get out here!
